Botswana Life Donates P1.5 Million to the Presidential Housing Appeal

Botswana Life handed over a P1.5million cheque to the Presidential Housing Appeal on the 28th of August 2015. This outstanding donation was done at the Office of the President and present on that day was the Botswana Life Executive Team, The Presidential Housing Appeal Board members, members of the general public and the Office of the President choir. Welcoming the guests was Mrs. Goaba Mosienyane the Coordinator, Government Reforms, who congratulated Botswana Life on its 40 year milestone and commended it for the heart warming difference it makes in the lives of Batswana.

Speaking on behalf of the Presidential Housing Appeal Board was Mr. Paul Paledi as he stated that this initiative started 5 years ago and that in those five years 510 houses have been built housing over 3000 less privileged Batswana across the country. Mr. Paul Paledi went on to express their gratefulness and thanked Botswana Life for joining in their dream to house fellow citizens across the country with no roofs over their heads.

Handing over the cheque on behalf of Botswana Life was Mr. Moletlanyi Tshosa who is the Head of Retail. When giving his remarks he expressed that Botswana Life stands for a good cause and is driven by an undying passion of giving Batswana dignity through services that change their lives for the better. The Botswana Life Head of Retail went on further to speak about the different ways Botswana Life makes a difference in the lives of Batswana. “Botswana Life contributes millions towards the BIHL Trust which looks for projects that assist the community in different ways, we have also adopted quite a number of schools to try and improve the literacy rate in our country, Botswana Life has a Lesedi Employee Programme, which is made up of Botswana Life stuff members who are geared towards helping the community at large and has since helped build a house in Thamaga for a destitute family. 

“It is with great honor and pleasure for us at Botswana Life to be donating this P1.5million which will go a long way in helping the Presidential Housing Appeal put roofs over those that are less privileged in our country and we would also like to commend them for the houses they have built over the past 5 years”, concluded Mr. Tshosa.

When giving the vote of thanks Dr Jeff Ramsay, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Government Communications thanked Botswana Life for the astounding donation and encouraged the company to not lose the momentum and keep making a difference in the community they operate in.
