Botswana Life IT Department Gives Back

It was a cheerful day as Botswana Life officially donated school uniforms and shoes to 50 students at St Bernard’s Primary School in Taung village. Through its Information Technology department. The donation took place on the 10th of June, and is an extension of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative ‘Living The Values’ which intends to positively give back and assist communities.

During the handover, Botswana Life Head of IT, Mr. Anderson Samu, stated that the company is fulfilling two of its four corporate values, caring and connected. “As Botswana Life, our values propel us to service our communities. Education is a societal issue, and as such, we have taken a decision to play our part. We believe we must assist in easing students’ learning process by availing all essential educational materials.”

The students, whose ages range from 6 to 13, gleefully embraced their new uniforms. “It is rewarding to see the smiles on the children’s faces, and we hope that these uniforms will keep them warm this winter,” Samu added. Their smiles were contagious as they sang and thanked the department for its contributions.

Dignitaries present at the handover included Kgosi Masie, who commended Botswana Life on their contribution. “The cost of uniforms can be burdensome for some parents. We are very pleased to see companies such as Botswana Life addressing this challenge, and we encourage their continued support to our communities.”
