Botswana Life Insurance Limited, the pioneer and the largest-by-marketshare life insurance business in Botswana, has been awarded the prestigious Golden Arrow Award by PMR.Africa for being the highest rated company in the local insurance market. The award was received by Botswana Life Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Catherine Lesetedi-Letegele at the PMR.Africa’s Leaders and Achievers Awards Breakfast held on Friday 3rd of August 2012 at the Phakalane Golf Estate Hotel in Gaborone.
The distinguished award was based on the survey on business sector: insurance companies (life) in Botswana which was conducted early this year by PMR.Africa, a South African based company that carries out consulting, research and risk management services. The ratings were based on the perceptions of a sample of 200 respondents comprising of chief executive officers, managing directors, business owners, company directors, managers as well as senior government officials based in Botswana.
BLIL was the highest rated with an overall rating of 3.93 out of a possible 5.00 against the following criteria:
- Companies/institutions that have done most to enhance economic growth and development of the country
- Levels of managerial expertise
- Implementation of corporate governance
- Brand awareness
- Levels of innovation
