The Board and Executive Management of Botswana Life Insurance Limited (Botswana Life) is pleased to announce that, Mr. Chandrakant Chauhan has been appointed as the Board Chairman of Botswana Life, effective immediately. He is an ambitious and driven Group Managing Director for Sefalana Holding Company Limited ("Group”), a position he has held for the past 15 years.
Mr. Chauhan is a highly motivated and effective Chartered Accountant with over 10 years of experience having worked for reputable accounting firms, including KPMG in the United Kingdom and Botswana. He is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) in the United Kingdom. A Fellow Member of the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA) and Fellow Member of the ICAEW for over 20 years, his extensive knowledge and experience has seen him maneuver through a range of sectors. These include Retail, Manufacturing, Financial Services and Property Development.
In addition to his impressive achievements, Mr. Chauhan has previously held a number of Board positions including; Botswana Insurance Holdings Limited – Appointed Non-Executive Director since April 2009; Botswana Insurance Holdings Limited – Appointed Remuneration Committee Chairman for 3.5 years; Botswana Insurance Holdings Limited – Appointed Audit Committee member since April 2009;
Botswana Insurance Fund Management – Appointed Non-Executive Chairman since January 2013.
