Botswana Life Celebrates 40 Years in Business and Launches a New Brand Identity

GABORONE- This Thursday, July 16th, Botswana Life Insurance Limited celebrated its 40th anniversary and unveiled its new corporate identity in front of 300 of its key stakeholders, hosted in an elegant event held at the Gaborone International Convention Centre. The event was attended by top government officials, the cream of Botswana’s private sector and other key stakeholders, such as top officials from Sanlam, distribution partners, past and present clients as well as management and staff of the company.  

In her welcome remarks, the Botswana Life Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mrs Catherine Lesetedi-Letegele highlighted a number of significant strides that the company has achieved in the last 40 years, including contributing to the development of Tapologo Estate, Lansmore Hotel, Railpark Mall, SADC House, Mall and Airport Junction shopping mall in Gaborone; paying back billions of Pula into the hands of Batswana through claims and benefits and contributing to skills development and employment creation in the country.

Lesetedi-Letegele explained that Botswana Life is rebranding in order to align the corporate identity with the new strategic direction of the company; to reposition the company in a dynamic, competitive business environment; and to get all key stakeholders to reconnect with the company’s new and broader proposition.

“This new identity is a symbol of an invigorated Botswana Life. We are excited about having all of our stakeholders reconnect with our brand and its proposition. We are excited to remind our customers of our commitment to serving them; and assure them of the trust that they can continue to have in the Botswana Life brand. We are thrilled to reinvigorate this beloved brand of ours. Our new values of Caring, Connected, Committed and Courageous will be a constant reminder to us that we exist to demonstrate care to those that we serve, and to serve them with respect and integrity. We are committed to living our passion every day, that of putting the customer first; we will remain real and authentic, so that we remain connected to all our stakeholders; lastly, our courage will drive us to strive for excellence in all that we do, to take bold decisions that resonate with our leadership position in the market,” she said.

The Guest of Honour at the event, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Hon. Vincent Seretse noted that 40 years is indeed a huge milestone and that the existence of Botswana Life is testimony to the fact that Botswana has potential to produce great success stories in business. The Minister continued by highlighting that the dynamics of Botswana’s business landscape are indeed shifting and they require fast-thinking, agile enterprise if one is to survive. He ended by commending Botswana Life for making such a significant change.

“It is such a bold step on the part of Botswana Life to seek to reposition itself in this ever-changing environment, so as to remain competitive and relevant. I congratulate Botswana Life and wish them the very best on this transition”, the Minister said.
